City looks to buy police car

The Brewton Police Department is one step closer to adding a police vehicle to its fleet.
Council members approved the application for a Police Law Enforcement/Traffic Safety grant.
City Clerk John Angel told the council the grant would allow the police department the opportunity to purchase a completely outfitted Crown Victoria to be used in investigations conducted by the department.
Bids for a vehicle to be used by the Brewton Police Department were also discussed at the Tuesday meeting of the council.
Peach Ford was the lone bidder with a cost of $31,757, Angel said.
The vehicle, a Ford Expedition, will be used by Police Chief Monte McGougin.
In other business, the council
