The Brewton Youth Football teams competed against Ensley Blue this weekend and came out with a 2-1 overall record.
The mini-mites lost 18-0 while the Mites won 12-6 and the Midgets won 14-6.
In the mini-mite game, the Brewton defense held the Ensley offense to a 0-0 tie in the first half, but the Ensley offense was just a little too much as they went on for the win. For Brewton on offense, Alex Daugherty led with three pass receptions and over 75 yards and D’Angelo Thomas had 55 yards rushing. On defense, Toby Jenkins, Clifton Walker, Christian Roye and Tommy Mitchell led Brewton.
For the Mites, D’Andre Fraser had a 60-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 6-6 as the game went into four overtimes until quarterback Kellyn Winn scored on a 5-yard run on third down. McHenry Coleman, Anterio Drakeford, Cade Castleberry and Treylon Watson led the defense.
For the Midgets, Eric Maye scored on a 30-yard run and kicked the extra point to go ahead 8-0 in the second quarter as Kameron Coleman ran a 45-yard touchdown and quarterback Kieon Smith had 75-yards rushing. On defense, Ivory Miller, Dominique Jackson, Michael Woods and Derrick Murray all played outstanding to hold Ensley to only six points.
