Free tutoring for adults is available at the Brewton Public Library Literacy House, located next to the library, from 6-7 p.m. beginning Oct. 25. Call the library at 867-4626.
W.S. Neal High School is having its annual fruit sale. Fruits included are pink grapefruit, Navel oranges, Tangelos, Tangerines, Hamlin oranges and apples They will also have 10 pound bags of sweet potatoes. Contact the school for information.
Comfort Care Hospice needs volunteers to help &#8220make a difference” in someone's life. Contact Ramona Thomas, Volunteer Coordinator at 867-6232, or stop by the office at 722 Douglas Avenue.
Wellness on Wheels is available to kids under 18 and pregnant women for transportation to and from medical appointments. Call 809-8440 for appointments or information.
Oct. 31
East Brewton First Assembly Church will have a Harvest Festival from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is $1 and that includes hot dog, chili, chips and drink. There will be games and entertainment.
Nov. 1
Halloween Trick-or-Treat for Brewton and East Brewton will be held from 5 to 8 p.m.
Rikard's Mill Historical Park will be making sugar cane syrup beginning with the demonstration of how syrup is made. Admission will be $5 for adults and $3 for children and seniors. Fresh cane syrup will be served with fresh biscuits and it will be for sale around lunchtime.
