Neal shuts out Calhoun for homecoming victory

The perfect homecoming scenario goes something like this: Build a commanding lead, empty the bench and send the crowd home happy.
That's precisely the script the Blue Eagles followed Friday night, capping homecoming festivities with a dominating 49-0 victory over Calhoun.
With the victory, W.S. Neal (6-4) guaranteed itself a winning record en route to its first shutout of the season.
Hathcock worried earlier in the week that his team might be distracted, considering last week's emotional victory over rival T.R. Miller, the weeklong homecoming festivities and the first round of the playoffs looming next week.
None of that mattered, as W.S. Neal dominated the game from the opening kickoff, holding Calhoun to just 29 yards, forcing five turnovers and limiting the Tigers (2-8) to minus-43 yards rushing.
