Mr. Earlie Ray Thomas, 100, died Nov. 11, 2007. He was a native of Tulsa, Okla. and was a member of Second St. Siloam Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II and had been a resident of Brewton for many years. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bertha Thomas; seven daughters and five sons, James (Jeanette) Mallory and Marilyn S. Thomas, both of Atlanta, Frederick Thomas of Reno, Nev., Gwen (Andrew) Walton, Lisa Thomas, and Debra (William) King, all of Brewton, Diane Peterson of Detroit, Mich., Don (Elteena) Thomas of Daphne, Charlia Rhett (James) Daniel of Montgomery, Ronald Thomas of Houston, Texas, Stephanie (Reginald) Tisdale of Dothan, and Sidney L. Thomas of Monroeville; 21 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-laws, Mattie Gantt of Brewton, and Ollie Jenkins of Atlanta; one brother-in-law, Mack Salter of Evergreen, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held Monday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m. at Second Saint Siloam Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie J. Blue officiating. Burial followed at Bergan Memorial Cemetery with Presley-Fluk
