WSN B team takes loss

The W.S. Neal B team basketball team suffered their first defeat of the season Monday night when they took a 29-23 loss at the hands of the Excel Panthers in Excel.
W.S. Neal (1-1) was led offensively by Percy Travis who had 11 points in the game.
W.S. Neal came out and took an early 4-2 with 4:16 in the first quarter, but Excel tied the game at 4-4 and then took a 7-4 lead.
Kenny Kiser moved the Eagles within one as he connected for two points cutting the Excel lead to 7-6 with 51 seconds to go in the first.
Excel got a basket with 10 seconds to go in the first to take a 9-6 lead at the end of the first.
Travis then tied the game at 9-9 as he came out and hit a 3-pointer with 4:55 left in the second.
Excel would then take a 15-9 before Travis added another 3-pointer to get Neal with 15-12 at the half.
After Excel took a 21-18 lead after the third quarter, W.S. Neal would close the lead to 22-21 after a Blue Eagle 3-pointer, but that would be as close as the Eagles would get as Excel would take a 29-21 lead and Neal added a two points with 26.4 seconds left in the game as Excel held on for the win.
W.S. Neal will be back in action next Monday, Nov. 26 when they travel to Georgiana.
