Mr. Leonard “Buddy” Goodwin, 70, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, in Century. He was a native of Atmore and a resident of Century since 1956, a retired custodian from Century High School after 31 years of service and attended the Faith Bible Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherrel and Gladys Goodwin and a sister, Annie Arcola Goodwin.
He is survived by two sisters, Christine Black of Century, and Luvirn Mathis of Atmore, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 24, at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. C.L. Langford and the Rev. Gene Stokes officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronald Mosley, Paul Black, Allen Black, Douglas Black, Frank Luker and Jeremy Lee.
