Clay Rice, a nationally-known artist, is planning a visit to Brewton to demonstrate his art of creating silhouettes.
Milligan's, located in downtown Brewton on the boardwalk, will be hosting Rice during his visit which is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
During his time at Milligan's, Rice will be creating silhouettes of children for purchase.
The craft captures the world in black and white, according to his Rice Galleries Web site.
Rice is able to use scissors to capture a silhouette portrait in a matter of moments using special techniques. As he creates the image, he follows the contours of his subject making the connection between his eyes and his hands to create a unique piece of art.
Rice's work has been shown alongside artist Kara Walker in a show held at the Spruill Gallery in Atlanta, Ga. His work has also been presented in galleries across South Carolina.
