If you did not attend Brewton downtown businesses' holiday preview sale two weeks ago, you missed out on a fun night.
But you haven't missed your chance entirely.
The downtown merchants will host another sale next Thursday night, Dec. 6, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Supporting downtown merchants is among the most important aspects of these holiday sales, because supporting local businesses helps our economy and helps all of us.
But downtown merchants have made sure they have plenty of incentives to lure all of us to their stores for these special previews.
From musical acts and entertainment to special discounts and food, the stores have a wonderful array of activities and merchandise to catch anyone's eye.
We're lucky that we have unique gift ideas in our community - and that we have hometown service to help us find just the right presents for the folks on our lists.
During the first holiday preview sale, it was wonderful to see so many people walking the boardwalk and crowding into local stores. There was as much fellowship as there was shopping, and I think most merchants - and shoppers - were happy to see that interaction in our community.
It would be wonderful to have such sales and special hours throughout the year, but our merchants need to know they have the support of local residents in order to stay open longer hours.
Come out next Thursday to support local businesses. You'll find entertainment, food and more than a few deals - and you'll get to spend time with friends and neighbors.
