A fund has been set up to help pay medical expenses for Brad Blackwell, a contract worker for Quality Plus Services who was injured in a fall at Brewton's Georgia-Pacific mill on Oct. 1.
Blackwell fell 34 feet in the incident and had a number of injuries to his arm, leg and back, said his mother, Barbara Blackwell Barnes.
A fund has been set up at BankTrust if anyone would like to make donations, Barnes said. Funds will help pay for physical therapy for Blackwell. He continues to make weekly trips to Mobile for treatment, she said.
Barnes said the family would like to thank the rescue squad at Georgia-Pacific, the staff and doctors at D.W. McMillan Hospital, the ambulance service, LifeFlight and Amedisys for their “help and encouraging words.”
