After having no juniors, six sophomores and six freshmen last year to make up the rest of his roster that went 12-10 on the season, T.R. Miller Lady Tiger head coach Ron Jackson returns six juniors, four sophomores, five freshmen and one eighth grader on this year's team.
While this year's roster may not show much more experience grade-wise, playing-wise and in experience it might.
Last year's squad, though young and inexperienced, advanced to the sub-regional playoffs before losing 48-45 to Thomasville.
This year returns key players in Kesha Peterson (5-7 junior, guard), Nikiya Smith (5-7 sophomore, guard), Janel McCorvey (5-9 sophomore, forward), Ashley Williams (5-7 junior, small guard), Mynetra Boley (5-10 junior, forward/center), Catherine Green (5-5 junior, point guard), Morgan Hubbard (5-7 junior, forward) and Keydra Shedrone (5-8 sophomore small forward).
Green will control the point guard position.
Eighth-grader Leah Brundidge (5-5, guard) is on the team this year and looks to see some playing time for the Tigers this year.
Morgan Hubbard, Mynetra Boley and Keydra Shedrone are returners for the Tigers this year.
Shaniqua Kiser rounds out the Tiger roster this year.
T.R. Miller's schedule this coming year does not see many home games for the Tigers and has some tough tournaments for the Lady Tigers this year.
Also, the Tigers are in the 4A area with Hillcrest, W.S. Neal and Andalusia.
