Make Christmas special for children

It's that time of year again! I know you've noticed the Christmas decorations and the holiday music being played on the radio and in stores. Hopefully you've also noticed that there are Christmas Project “angels” at all the local banks as well as in Jus Do. Each one of these angels represents a child on the Christmas Project list.
From the time my grandmother was small until she graduated from high school, she lived in an orphanage. Obviously she didn't have very much, but her memories of special gifts she got at Christmas from people she never knew were very strong. She shared those stories with me and my brother and sister as we were growing up, and she was single-minded in her devotion to us where the holidays were concerned. She made every event very special.
I think that's why I enjoy helping with the Christmas Project so much. I don't usually get to see the faces of the children we help, but I already know the Christmas Project makes a difference. You can help us make that difference this year by picking out one of the angels available at the local banks and at Jus Do. The angels range in age from 1 -14. All you have to do is buy a toy suitable for the age of that child. Tape the angel to the toy and take it to the Chamber office (next door to Alabama Power) by Friday, Dec. 14. There is no gift that's more fun to open than a toy! Keep in mind that boys and girls over 1 have just as much fun opening a toy as preschoolers. I appreciate whatever you are able to do!
