Appleton residents should see a change in the drive home beginning after the first of the year.
Bridges said the project should begin shortly after the beginning of the year as paperwork is completed in the process.
Also during Monday's meeting, the commission made changes that will see residents in the North Brewton and Kirkland casting ballots with other voters at the Brewton Community Center.
The polling location for the North Brewton/Kirkland precinct has been an ongoing problem for many years, Williamson said.
Williamson said he and other county officials discussed the situation with area residents but found no solution to the problem.
Time constraints concerning upcoming elections forced a quicker move than desired, Williamson said.
