Flomaton pair arrested on drug charges

A Flomaton man and woman were arrested Dec. 7 on drug charges and were taken to the Escambia County Detention Center for booking. Agents with the 21st Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force and officers from the Flomaton Police Department made the arrests.
Joseph Roderigus Lowe, 35 and Kenneather Shavelle Davison, 21, both of 2429 Railroad Street in Flomaton, were arrested at their residence and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, first degree.
In a press release from the DTF, department agents and officers with Flomaton Police Department executed a search warrant and recovered several bags of marijuana from the residence.
Officials with DTF also said employees at Little River State Park contacted agents Dec. 8 regarding a suspicious duffel bag. After making contact with park officials, agents discovered the duffel bag lying beside a garbage can containing 18 bags of marijuana.
The bag was taken into custody by an agent with DTF and is being tested for fingerprints. An investigation into the discovery of the bag is continuing.
The 21st Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force is comprised of the following law enforcement agencies: Escambia County Sheriff's Department, Atmore Police Department, East Brewton Police Department, Brewton Police Department, Flomaton Police Department, Escambia County District Attorney's Office, Poarch Police Department and the Escambia County Commission.
The Task Force receives 50 percent of its funding from a grant funded by the Bureau of Justice Affairs Division of the United States Department of Justice and which is administered by the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs. The remainder of the funding is provided by the Escambia County Sheriff's Department, Atmore Police Department, Brewton Police Department and the Escambia County District Attorney's Office.
