Organizers are encouraging anyone who is interested to participate in next month's Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade.
The parade, just the third in Brewton, will be bigger this year, said Joe Watson, chairman of the Brewton precinct of the Alabama Democratic Conference.
In addition to floats, bands will join the lineup this year, Watson said.
Floats, vehicles, marchers, motorcycles and horses are welcome in the parade, Watson said.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, in the parking lot behind BankTrust and continue to Sportsman's Park on Martin Luther King Drive.
The parade will end with a celebration at the park, including food and children's games.
The Martin Luther King celebration will continue the next day with a program at 5 p.m. at Second St. Siloam Missionary Baptist Church. Evergreen Mayor Larry Presley Fluker will be the speaker.
For information about joining the parade, call Tanyeka Cooler at 368-6566; Jackie Hubbard at 867-4686; Mamie Hamilton at 867-2569; or Regina Watson at 867-4630.
The deadline to enter the parade is Jan. 13, 2008.
