Castleberry
Mrs. Violet Sharlene Blair, 62, of Englewood Circle in Castleberry died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007 at a Montgomery health care facility after an extended illness. She was a native and life-long resident of Escambia County and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Appleton Church of Christ.
She is survived by her mother, Ernestine Blair Hazlett of Castleberry; two sons, Dewayne Herbert Tompkins and James Daniel Tompkins, both of Brewton; three daughters, Cheryl Janeece Tompkins (Howard) Stewart of Brooklyn, Sandra Darlene Tompkins (Ronald) Barnes of Castleberry and Peggy M. (Bill) Barrett of Raleigh, N.C.; two brothers, Frazier (Darlo) Blair of Jacksonville, Fla., and Frederick (Bonnie) Blair of Castleberry; four sisters, Charlotte Blair Haveard of Castleberry, Hazel Blair Bell of Range, Julie Blair Sammons and Rachel Blair Milstead both of Castleberry; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 14, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Minister Clifford Dixon officiating with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Burial followed in Cooper Cemetery.
