Brewton Middle School, as part of its re-entry into the Title I program, has submitted a school improvement plan to state officials, city school Superintendent Lynn Smith said Monday.
The school board approved that plan to be sent to the state. Smith said the plan, while required, has given the teachers and administrators at the school a good idea of their progress.
Brewton Middle School has been using Title I money to fund a before-school math tutoring program for seventh- and eighth-graders. About 25 students are benefiting, Smith said.
