Tthe 2007 year is winding down and by the time you will be reading this, there will only be one more day in the year until the blueberries come down at the Blueberry Drop and we usher in the new year of 2008.
Man how the year has flown by so quickly.
I started my new job here as the sports editor of The Brewton Standard on Sept. 17, and have witnessed a lot of sporting events in my three months and 13 days.
While I did not witness all the sporting events that happened in the year, I tried to think of all the events that have happened since I moved back to Brewton from going to school at Troy and events that have happened since I started helping Bruce Hixon before he left and I took over.
Bruce always issued his “favorite” sporting awards for that particular year and I thought I would carry on the tradition of the same.
While I did not use all the ones he had, I did use ones that I thought would fit what I have selected.
I am going to do the best moment award, best coaching job award, best comeback award and best clutch play award.
Here we go!
My best moment award goes to:
