Boys finish fourth

After winning their first two games in the Playground Area Shootout at Choctawhatchee High School in Ft. Walton Beach, the T.R. Miller Tigers dropped their next two games in the semifinals of the tournament, earning them fourth place in the 16-team tournament.
T.R. Miller 51, Siegel 76
The Tigers found themselves in a tough game against a good Siegel team Friday night. After falling behind 17-7 in the first quarter, the Tigers trailed 33-16 at the half.
Siegel continued its offensive scoring to open the third quarter as they scored 29 points in the third quarter to the Tigers' 16 to hold a 62-32 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
The Tigers outscored Siegel in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough as Siegel held on for the 25-point win, 76-51.
Terry Hetherington continued to lead the Tigers in scoring, finishing with 19 points in the game.
T.R. Miller 58, Pensacola 69
The Tigers were outscored 20-10 in the first quarter of their Saturday night game against Pensacola, but had a seven-point advantage in the second quarter to cut the Pensacola lead to 30-27 at the half.
T.R. Miller continued to hold a scoring advantage in the third quarter as the Tigers cut the lead to 40-39, but Pensacola outscored Miller 29-19 in the fourth quarter to take the 69-58 win.
With the loss, the Tigers dropped to 7-3 on the season.
Hetherington led the Tigers with 25 points and he averaged 19 points in the four-game tournament earning him a spot on the All-tournament team.
The Tigers will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Hillcrest for their first area game of the year.
Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m. in Evergreen.
