Mrs. Birdie Mae Nolen Nelson, 81, of Travis Road, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, in a Pensacola hospital. She was a native of Red Level and a life long resident of Brewton. She was of the Pentecostal faith and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed Nolen and Eldridge Nolen.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Ann (Carl) Baggett of Repton; three sons, Danny Madden, Donald (Carol) Madden, and John (Rachel) Madden, all of Brewton; three sisters, Dell Madden, Lois Sellers, and Mirtle Thompson, all of Brewton; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 3, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Greer officiating. Burial followed at Fort Crawford Cemetery in East Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
