With The Oak Ridge Boys and Robert Earl Keen as co-headliners for the Brewton Music Festival in March, ticket purchases are being sought by local music-lovers. Previously available on-line through Ticket Master, members of the Brewton Quality of Life Committee are taking steps to make the purchase of tickets easy for Brewton area residents.
Others scheduled to perform at the March 8 event are Grayson Capps and Chris Golden. Hank Adam Locklin will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the festival.
Billingsley said 5,000 tickets are up for grabs for the March 8 event with 500 tickets available locally.
Tickets have been on sale for two weeks for the event, Billingsley said. Tickets will remain on sale through March.
Tickets are selling for $25 each and will benefit the plans of the committee to refurbish Burnt Corn Creek Park. With funds raised from the 2007 Songwriter's Festival, the group hopes to have part of the refurbishment underway prior to the March event.
The Brewton Music Festival will be held Saturday, March 8 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Burnt Corn Creek Park in downtown Brewton. Vendors are being secured to have food and beverages available for the five-hour event, Billingsley said.
Billingsley said festival goers are invited to bring coolers for beverages and food if they choose.
Seating for the event will not be provided, Billingsley said. Festival attendees are reminded to bring chairs and blankets for seating at the event.
