Giving the gift of life could help you prolong your own life. The Brewton Area YMCA will be sponsoring a community blood drive with an added bonus.
The donations, administered by the Northwest Florida Blood Mobile, will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 on the campus of the Brewton YMCA.
One out of 10 patients in local hospital need blood or blood products, Lanier said.
For those with busy schedules, appointments for donations can be made to help speed up the process, Lanier said.
Anyone interested in making a donation is encouraged to drop by the donation site. Appointments can be made by calling 867-9622.
