One City of Brewton employee got a bird's eye view of a mass of debris nestled among the pilings of the Lee Street bridge.
Brian Meadows was lowered by basket from a crane sitting atop the bridge Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as part of an effort to clear away debris.
The gathering of debris is nothing new for the bridge across Murder Creek, connecting East Brewton and Brewton.
Heavy rains like those that have fallen in the last week also cause problems in city drainage areas.
Howard said his department is also responsible for keeping streets cleaned in the Brewton area with the use of a street sweeper.
The City of Brewton is responsible for the removal of debris at the base of the Lee Street Bridge.
However, the debris that gathers around the Leon Brooks Hines Bridge across Murder Creek is in the State of Alabama's maintenance jurisdiction.
