Lady Tigers stay unbeaten in area

W.S. Neal kept the game close until the fourth quarter, but the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers ran away with the fourth quarter Friday night, winning 44-24.
In the fourth quarter, T.R. Miller began to wear the Lady Eagles down and forced their key players into being fouled out as T.R. Miller went on for the victory.
The T.R. Miller Lady Tigers improved to 12-4 and 5-0 in area play.
In the first quarter, T.R. Miller went on a 10-0 run to open the game and held the Lady Eagles scoreless until the 1:30 mark when Rachel Davis got the Eagles on the board. T.R. Miller held a 10-2 lead at the end of the first quarter.
The Tigers began to open up the game in the second quarter as they held a 15-8 scoring advantage in the quarter and held a 25-10 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, W.S. Neal started to play and made the Lady Tigers earn every point as they closed the game to eight points in the quarter outscoring T.R. Miller 9-6 in the third.
T.R. Miller added four late points in the quarter from Catherine Green and Ashley Williams to take a 31-19 lead into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, it was just about all T.R. Miller Lady Tigers as they held a 13-5 advantage in the quarter and used a 7-0 run to build a 38-23 lead.
The Lady Tigers only surrendered one final point to the Lady Eagles while scoring six points to end the game on a 6-0 run and take the win 44-24.
Kesha Peterson led the Lady Tigers with 18 points, while Katie Elliott continued her scoring output for the Lady Eagles and finished with eight.
While Jackson was happy with the results of the game, but not happy with his players play, W.S. Neal Lady Eagle head coach Steve Lambert was the opposite.
While he was not happy with the result, he was pleased with his players.
T.R. Miller will be back in action at home on Tuesday when they host Escambia County, and W.S. Neal will be back in action on Thursday at home against J.U. Blacksher.
