Neal loses two in area

The W.S. Neal Eagles fell to 4-14 this week with a 64-37 loss to Hillcrest Tuesday night in Evergreen and a 45-29 loss to Andalusia at home Thursday night.
Both games were area games for the Eagles, who fell to 0-4 in area play.
Hillcrest 64, W.S. Neal 37
While Tuesday's ride to Evergreen for the W.S. Neal Eagles may have not been a very long ride for the Eagles, it was a long night for them on the court as Hillcrest defeated W.S. Neal 64-37 to claim the area win.
The loss dropped W.S. Neal to 4-13 on the season and 0-3 in area play.
In the game, the Eagles fell behind 15-6 in the first quarter and were outscored 19-7 in the second quarter to trail 34-13 at the halftime break.
In the third quarter, W.S. Neal was edged by five points as Hillcrest put up 21 points to the Eagles 16 to hold a 55-29 lead heading into the fourth quarter of play.
In the fourth quarter, offensive production was low as the two teams only combined for 17 points as Hillcrest went on for the 27-point win, 64-37.
Three scorers who each finished with eight points in the game led W.S. Neal.
Kendrick Floyd, Jeremy Alexander, and Chris Payne led the Eagles with eight points.
Andalusia 45, W.S. Neal 29
In Thursday night's game between W.S. Neal and Andalusia, the visiting Bulldogs held the Eagles to two points in the first quarter while scoring 12 as they held a 12-2 lead at the end of the first.
In the second quarter of play, W.S. Neal roared back as they scored 10 points to the Bulldogs nine to cut the lead to 21-12 heading into the half,
In the third and fourth quarters, W.S. Neal held close as they were only outscored 22-17 in the half, but the Eagles were unable to get back in the game after the first quarter as Andalusia won 45-29.
The loss dropped W.S. Neal to 4-14 on the season and 0-4 in area play.
Chris Payne finished with 10 points led W.S. Neal.
