Mr. John Francis “J.B.” Brazil Jr., 54, of Ridge Road, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at a Pensacola hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of Moses Lake, Wash. and a resident of Brewton for the past 45 years. He was employed with the city of Brewton in the utilities department, a former deacon at Ridge Road Baptist Church and was currently attending Dogwood Hills Assembly of God. He was a member of the Norris Masonic Lodge 301 and was a 1971 graduate of W.S. Neal High School. He was preceded in death by his father, John Francis Brazil Sr. and a niece, Summer Thompson.
He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Johns Brazil of Brewton; his wife, Tina Grant Brazil of Brewton; his son, Jimmy Lee Conner of Fort Lewis, Wash.; a brother, Steve (Donna) Brazil of Pensacola; a sister, Marie Thompson of Auburn; four nephews; two nieces; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Gloria Grant of Jacksonville, Fla. and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Chuck and Tammy McMullen of Pensacola.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 24, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the East Brewton First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. at East Brewton First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Thomas Quick, the Rev. George Weaver, the Rev. Lee Cadenhead and speaker Ronnie Cottrell officiating. Burial with full Masonic rites will be held at Fort Crawford Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Joey Shell, Lawton Shipp, LaDon Simmons, Phillip Day, Chuck McMullen, Jason Thomas, Mike Cosey and Scott Ward.
