The number 26 was the lucky number, or maybe an unlucky number, this week in two games for the W.S. Neal Eagle B teams in games against Hillcrest and Andalusia when the Eagles scored 26 points.
But it was the other numbers in the game that made the difference as the Eagle B team fell to 5-10 on the season dropping a 30-26 game to Hillcrest Tuesday night in Evergreen and a 36-26 game Thursday night at home to Andalusia.
W.S. Neal 26, Hillcrest 30
In Tuesday night's loss to Hillcrest, the Jaguars held a 19-13 lead over the Eagles at the halftime break, but Neal responded in the second half outscoring Hillcrest 13-11.
However, the two-point advantage in the second half was not enough to overcome the first half as the Eagles fell 30-26.
Eight different Eagles scored in the game with Michael Thomas leading the Eagles with five points in the game.

It started out good for the Eagles and ended good, but it was what was in the middle that was not good as the Eagles dropped a 36-26 decision Thursday night at home to the Andalusia Bulldogs.
In the first and fourth quarters of the game, W.S. Neal held a 20-14 lead over the Bulldogs, but in the second and third quarters the Bulldogs outscored the Eagles 22-6 to take the win.
Thomas again led the Eagles in scoring as he finished with nine points against the Bulldogs.
W.S. Neal will be back in action at home on Thursday night when they host the J. U. Blacksher Bulldogs.
Game time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Thursday night at the W.S. Neal High School gymnasiuim.
