Drivers who regularly travel along County Road 49, better known as Appleton Road, may be inconvenienced over the next couple of months - but the end result will be smooth.
Bullard Excavation of Andalusia has been awarded the contract for repaving work that is expected to take 60 working days to complete.
The bridge and culvert over Green Branch is first on the list for work, Bridges said. The site is located between Lovelace Lane and Alexander Heights.
During the Green Branch work, motorists may have to detour from the road to find alternative routes, Bridges said.
The contract awarded to Bullard Excavating allows for 60 working days to complete the resurfacing and rebuilding of shoulders, Bridges said.
The resurfacing and rebuilding of shoulders along County Road 49 will cover an area from the Brewton city limits to the Conecuh County line, Bridges said.
