W.S. Neal boys and girls fall to Hillcrest

Both the W.S. Neal boys and girls teams dropped an area game to the Hillcrest Jaguars this week.
The boys lost 49-20 dropping them to 4-17 overall and 0-6 in area play on the season as the girls fell 54-25 dropping them to 7-14 on the season and 0-6 in area play also.
Both teams will be back in action on Thursday and Friday at home against Flomaton and Georgiana respectively.
W.S. Neal boys 20, Hillcrest 49
In the boys game, the Eagles hung tough in the first half before being outscored 20-4 in the third quarter en route to the 29-point loss.
Chris Payne led the Eagles with six points.
W.S. Neal girls 54, Hillcrest 25
In the girls game, after a close first quarter that saw the Eagles on trail by three points, the Eagles were outscored by seven points in the second quarter as they trailed 23-13 at the half.
In the third quarter, Hillcrest scored 16 points in the quarter to the Lady Eagles four and held a 15-8 scoring advantage in the fourth to take the 29-point win.
Freda Folmar led the Lady Eagles with nine points.
With the losses, both the W.S. Neal boys team and the W.S. Neal girls teams earned the fourth seed in next week's area tourney.
The boys will play at Andalusia while the girls will play at T.R. Miller.
The W.S. Neal boys will play No. 1 seed Andalusia Friday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
The W.S. Neal girls will play T.R. Miller Thursday, Feb. 7 at 6:30 p.m.
Winner will advance as losers season ends.
