JDCC b-ball splits

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawks basketball team split two games this week as they improved their record to 6-14 overall and 3-6 in conference play.
The Warhawks lost to Wallace State of Selma in a rescheduled game from Jan. 19, 72-70 and defeated LBW Monday night at home 80-74.
The Warhawks will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Monroeville to take on Alabama Southern. The Warhawks will be back in action on Saturday at home against Chattahoochee Valley with a game time of 2 p.m.
JDCC 70, Wallace 72
After snow postponed the first game between the two schools, the teams met this past Saturday as Wallace hit a last second shot at the buzzer and defeated the Warhawks 72-70.
With the loss the Warhawks fell to 5-14 and 2-6 in conference play.
Quintereal Kelley led the Warhawks with 26 points as Donald Smith added 14 and Norman Griffin added 10.
Justin Owens led the Warhawks with 10 rebounds.
JDCC 80, LBW 74
After enduring a last second loss to Wallace in their last game, the JDCC Warhawks came back with an 80-74 win over LBW at home Monday night.
The win improved the Warhawks to 6-14 overall and 3-6 in conference play.
Four players scored in double digits in the game for the Warhawks as Smith led JDCC with 25 points. Owens had 15 as Jackson finished with11 and Kelley had 10.
After a tight first quarter that saw the game tied at 33-33, JDCC outscored LBW 47-41 in the second half to take the six-point win.
