Grayson Capps, one of the entertainers who will be in town for the Brewton Music Festival on March 8, will also give a free concert Thursday at the Brewton Community Center in conjunction with a book signing.
Capps is a native of Brewton and a well-known musician, both as a singer and songwriter.
Capps will be at the community center in conjunction with a book-signing for Joe Formichella's newly released book, “Murder Creek.”
Formichella will give a brief talk about the book at 6 p.m., followed by the concert.
Formichella's nonfiction book is an investigation into the mysterious 1966 death of East Brewton native Annie Jean Barnes.
Formichella said he undertook the project at the request of several of Barnes's children. Books can be purchased at the Civic Center.
Formichella will also be available before (beginning at 5:30 p.m.) and after the concert to personalize copies of the book.
The event is sponsored by the Brewton Public Library, in conjunction with Page &Palette Bookstore in Fairhope and River City Publishing in Montgomery.
