JDCC Warhawk baseball gets 4-3 win over PJC

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team picked up their second straight win Wednesday with a 4-3 win over PJC.
The win improved JDCC to 4-3 on the season.
Six different Warhawks had hits in the game and four of the six plated runs in the win.
Bryant Hall, Cody Sanderson, Cody Turner, Justin Reeves, Clay Simpson, and Wesley Gambrill all provided hits in the game as Simpson and Gambrill each provide RBIs.
After falling behind 1-0 in the bottom of the second inning, the Warhawks plated three in the top of the fourth to take a 3-1 lead.
Two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning tied the game at 3-3 forcing starting pitcher Derrick Young to leave the game.
Reliever Hunter Brown came in and pitched the final 3.2 innings and allowed four hits and no runs while striking out three to earn the win as the Warhawks picked up a run in the top of the seventh to take a 4-3 lead and the win.
Starting pitcher Young went 5.1 innings allowing three hits and three runs while striking out three.
JDCC was scheduled to face Calhoun over the weekend and will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Montgomery to face Huntingdon.
They will also be back in action on Wednesday at home for a double header against East Central at noon.
