Lady Warhawks win in extra innings

In their second consecutive extra-inning game, the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team improved to 4-4 with an 8-7 win in 10 innings.
The Lady Warhawks had previously defeated LSU-Eunice 4-3 last Saturday in Brewton in their first extra-inning game and then defeated PJC Tuesday at home.
Chasity Nicholson went 2-for-3 at the plate for the Lady Warhawks and had two RBIs in the game. Jerri Edwards scored three runs in the win.
After falling behind 3-0 in the first inning and 5-0 in the top of the second, JDCC scored two runs in the second inning and three in the third to tie the game at 5-all.
The game stayed tied, forcing the game into extra innings as both teams scored two runs in the ninth inning to force a 10th inning tied at 7-7.
PJC failed to score in the inning, and JDCC scored the winning run and took the win 8-7.
Carla Ray picked up the win on the mound for the Lady Warhawks as she replaced Kayla McKnight and went eight innings allowing three hits and two runs (none earned) while striking out 10 and walking four.
McKnight went two innings allowing three hits and five runs (none earned). McKnight walked two and struck out two.
