Mr. Charles F. Crawford, 88, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at his daughter's home in Freeport, Fla. He was a native of Memphis, Tenn., and had been a resident of Brewton since 1979, coming from Monroeville. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Army Air Corps. Prior to his retirement, he worked as an electrical engineer for Alabama Power, and was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Neil Alan Layton.
He is survived by a son, Charles F. (Connie) Crawford Jr. of Brewton; a daughter, Trina (Louis H.) Williams of Freeport, Fla.; three granddaughters; three grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with the Rev. Adrian Cook officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore, with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Garland Chaudron, Kenny Layton, Dennis Lambert, Scott Crawford, Marvin Crawford and Christopher Williams.
