JDCC baseball defeats WSCC

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team picked up their fourth win in a row and their first two conference wins of the year over the weekend with a double-header victory over Wallace State of Selma.
The Warhawks improved to 8-5 and 2-0 in conference play.
JDCC defeated Wallace State in game one 8-7 and 11-1 in game two.
JDCC was set to complete the Wallace State series Monday at home and will be back in action at home on Wednesday with a 9-inning game against Pensacola Junior College at 2 p.m. They play a Tuesday game at Okaloosa-Walton Community College in Niceville.
JDCC 8, Wallace State-Selma 7
The old saying that it's not over until it's over never meant as much to the JDCC Warhawks as it did in their first game against Wallace State.
After trailing 7-1 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning, the Warhawks scored seven runs in the bottom of the inning to take an 8-7 win.
Robbie Carlson picked up the win in relief of starting pitcher Josh Presley.
Carlson went six innings allowing four hits, three runs (two earned), one walk and six strikeouts.
Wes Gambrill, Kyle Snedeker, Cordaro Lindsey, and Hunter Norris all had two hits in the game as Norris's hits provided two RBIs.
Gambrill and Snedeker were 2-for-4 as Lindsey was 2-for-5 and Norris was 2-for-2.
JDCC 11, Wallace State-Selma 1
After having to score seven runs in the final inning of play in game one, the Warhawks had no trouble scoring runs in game two as they scored five runs in the second inning and five more over their final two at-bats to take an 11-1 win and improve to 8-5 and 2-0 in conference play.
Derrick Young got the start and the win in the game for the Warhawks as he went six innings, allowing two hits, one run (none earned) and recorded seven strike outs.
Snedeker and Norris both had a perfect 2-for-2 in the game and Lindsey scored two runs in the win.
Bryant Hall picked up three RBIs in the win.
