After having to wait almost an extra week to begin their 2008 season after a first game rainout against Frisco City, the W.S. Neal Lady Eagle softball team began their season with a 12-1 loss to Escambia County High School Tuesday in Atmore.
Jennie Crawford started on the mound and pitched for W.S. Neal. Crawford struck out four batters.
Jessica Lambert tripled and scored the only run for the Lady Eagles as Renae Boatwright had the RBI.
Crawford also went 1-for-2 at the plate.
W.S. Neal will be back in action on March 7 when they travel to Monroeville to face the Monroe County High School Tigers for a 4 p.m. game.
The Lady Eagles will begin their home schedule on March 11 when they take on Escambia County again at 4 p.m. and then will take on rival T.R. Miller at home at 4 p.m. on March 13.
