Escambia County Department of Human Resources is in need of a family who is willing to care for a 10-year-old male with Down's Syndrome, Autism, and Mental Retardation.
The child enjoys being outdoors and playing his toy piano. He requires constant supervision and needs to be placed in a home with no other children.
All interested parties will have to complete 10 weeks of training through DHR along with a home evaluation. All family members must pass criminal clearance checks and a child abuse neglect screening.
The family must also have adequate financial resources to meet the needs of the child and be committed to providing long-term care for him.
Anyone interested in volunteering to care for this, or other foster children, should contact Tracie James or Margaret Wilson at 809-2000.
Office hours for the Escambia County Department of Human Resources are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
