Mrs. Iva Lee Walden Knight, 79, died Feb. 28, 2008. She was a native of Brewton and had resided in many places, including Trenton, N.J., until her return to Brewton recently. She was a member of Sixth Avenue Missionary Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles Leslie Knight; a brother, Willie Walden of Newark, N.J.; four sisters, Laura Augustine, Ethel Mallory, Odell Davis and Essie Mae Lett, all of Pensacola; a brother-in-law, Dr. Earnest L. (Marion) Knight of New York City; four sisters-in-law, Clara Mills, Mary Young and Carrie Lewis, all of Brewton, and Redia Knight of New York; and a host of other friends and family members.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 4, at 11 a.m. at Sixth Ave. Baptist Church in Pensacola with the Rev. Dr. Michael J. Johnson Sr. officiating. Burial followed at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
