JDCC basketball finishes 8-21

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team ended their season with an 8-21 record overall and a 4-12 record in conference play.
The Warhawks lost their regular season finale to LBW in Andalusia 70-54 to fall to 7-20 overall and 4-12 in conference play.
The Warhawks were able to get revenge as they qualified for a state tournament play-n game against LBW and defeated the Saints 74-69 in Andalusia to advance to the state tournament where they fell to Northwest Shoals 106-72 to end their season.
JDCC 54, LBW 70
Donald Smith led the Warhawks with 28 points and seven rebounds in their loss to LBW.
The Saints outscored JDCC 30-22 in the first half and 40-32 in the second half to earn the16-point win.
Quintereal Kelley added 12 points for the Warhawks in the loss.
JDCC 74, LBW 69
In a play-in game to see who would advance to the state tournament, the JDCC Warhawks defeated LBW 74-69 to earn the trip. With the win JDC improved to 8-20 overall.
Four Warhawks scored in double figures in the game for the win as Smith led the Warhawks again with 21 points and six rebounds.
JDCC led 42-35 at the end of the first half and was outscored 34-32 in the second half, but held on for the five-point win.
Smith, Kelley, Justin Owens, and Will DuPont led the Warhawks with double figures.
