JDCC softball improves record with double wins

The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team improved to 7-15 as they picked up two wins over the weekend.
The Lady Warhawks defeated Rend Lake Community College 4-3 and Enterprise-Ozark 5-4.
The Lady Warhawks have a three-game road trip and will be back at home on March 27 when they take on McHenry County Community College at 11 a.m.
JDCC 4, Rend Lake 3
The Lady Warhawks scored three runs in the top of the first and scored a run in the top of the sixth inning after Rend Lake tied the game at 3-3- in the fifth inning to take a 4-3 win.
Jerri Edwards went 2-for-3 at the plate for the Lady Warhawks and produced two RBIs in the win.
Shannelle Bradshaw went 2-for-4 and Ashleigh Allgood was 2-for-4.
Allgood got the win on the mound for the Warhawks as she went seven innings and allowed three hits and three runs (one earned), walked three and struck out 13.
JDCC 5, Enterprise Ozark 4
The Lady Warhawks picked up their second win in as many games as they scored four first inning runs to take a 5-4 win.
Carla Ray picked up the win on the mound and Kayla McKnight got the save.
Ray went six innings and allowed eight hits and three runs (two earned).
Her worked proved out with one walk and one strikeout.
McKnight went one inning and allowed two hits and one run (none earned) and two strikeouts.
Edwards was 2-for-2 with one RBI to lead JDCC.
