Tigers: T.R. Miller junior varsity team also takes a loss against Jay Royals

The T.R. Miller baseball team dropped its fourth game in a row Friday night in Jay as they lost 4-3 to the Royals to fall to 1-7.
Derek Busby got the start on the mound and the no decision as James Hamric came in relief and picked up the loss.
Busby went 5 2/3 innings and allowed one run (none earned) on two hits and struck out five and walked three.
Hamric went 1 1/3 inning and allowed three runs (two earned).
Jay took a 1-0 lead in the first inning as the Tigers plated a run in the top half of the third inning to tie the game at 1-1.
The Tigers then took a 2-1 lead after a run in the fifth inning and then took a 3-1 lead in the top of the seventh.
The lead was short-lived as the Royals struck for two in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 3-3. The tie would send the game into extra innings.
The Royals scored in the bottom of the eighth inning on a balk to take the 4-3 win.
Seth Holland and Corey Williams each had an RBI to lead the Tigers. Holland was 2-for-3 and Williams went 2-for-4.
Wes Dickey was 1-for-3 with a run scored, and Garrett Robinson was 2-for-3. Chris Griffin was 1-for-4 with two runs scored.
The Tigers will host Andalusia on Friday for an area game double header beginning at 4 p.m.
Junior varsity
In junior varsity action, the Tigers dropped to 2-2 with a 5-4 loss to the Royals.
Joseph Strength took the loss on the mound as he went four innings and allowed five runs (three earned) on four hits.
His work found him walking none and striking out one.
Corey Rilling came in relief and went one inning. He allowed no runs on one hit and had three strikeouts.
Jay scored four runs in the first inning on four errors. The Royals were able to score a run in the third inning.
T.R. Miller had a run in the third inning and another three in the fifth but still came up short 5-4.
Strength went 1-for-2 at the plate with a triple and a RBI. Rilling was 1-for-2 with a RBI along with Dylan Bell's 1-for-2 with a RBI showing. Devlin Crosby was 1-for-3 for the Tigers.
The Tigers will be back in action March 24 against Flomaton at Hurricane Park.
