Warhawks win big

Fourteen runs over a three-inning span propelled the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball to a 15-3 win over Huntingdon College on Monday in Montgomery.
The win improved the Warhawks to 14-11 on the season.
After falling behind 2-1, the Warhawks scored five runs in the sixth and seventh innings and then four in the eighth inning for the 12-run win.
Clay Simpson was 1-for-3 on the day with a home run and two RBIs, and Cordaro Lindsey and Cody White led with a 2-for-3 and 3-for-4 showing respectively.
Cody Sanderson was 1-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs, and Wes Gambrill was 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
Seven JDCC pitchers combined to pitch in the win and allowed three runs on four hits.
Kyle Wyatt went two innings and got the win. Wyatt allowed two hits and two runs (one earned), two walks and no strikeouts.
Robbie Carlson, Hunter Brown, Michael Clay, Derek Lowery, Derrick Young and Hunter Brown also pitched in the win.
The JDCC Warhawks were to take on Enterprise-Ozark Community College in Enterprise on Friday and Saturday in a conference series.
The Warhawks will return to Brewton and Warhawk Field on Friday and Saturday, March 28 and 29, as they continue their conference slate of games against Wallace State of Dothan.
Game time is set for 1 p.m. on Friday for a nine-inning game and at noon Saturday for a doubleheader.
The Warhawks will alson take on Okaloosa-Walton (Fla.) on Tuesday at home beginning at 1 p.m. at JDCC Warhawks field.
