Tigers baseball falls to 4-9

The T.R. Miller Tiger baseball team dropped to 4-9 on the year with a 15-5 loss to the Flomaton Hurricanes Monday night in Flomaton.
The host Hurricanes scored seven runs in the first inning and seven in the second inning to overcome a 3-0 lead by the Tigers and take the 10-run win.
The Tigers committed eight errors in the game with six coming in the first two innings of play.
John Mathieu took the loss on the mound as he allowed four runs on two hits and walked two while striking out one in 1/3 of an inning.
James Hamric relieved Mathieu and went 1.2 inning allowing ten runs (three earned) on seven hits and walked one and striking out three.
Derek Busby went the remainder of the game and allowed one run.
Will Waters was 3-for-3 with one RBI and three singles as Chris Griffin was 2-for-3 with a double and a single and one RBI.
The Tigers are scheduled to take on W.S. Neal on Friday at home in a 4 and 6 p.m. doubleheader.
In the earlier JV game between the Tigers and the Hurricanes, the Tigers improved to 3-2 with an 11-8 win.
Dylan Smith took the win on the mound and Cody Swain earned the save. Smith went 4.1 innings and allowed seven runs (six earned) and walked three and struck out seven. Swain went 2/3 of an inning and allowed one run and one walk and struck out one.
Devlin Crosby was 1-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs as Rob Knowles was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Dylan Bell and Ryland Dixon were 2-for-4 each.
The Tigers will take on W.S. Neal on Thursday in a doubleheader at East Brewton beginning at 4 and 6 p.m.
