Mr. Clifford Lavon “Cliff” Thompson, 70, died Sunday, March 30, 2008, in an Evergreen medical facility after an extended illness. He was a native and long-time resident of Brewton before moving to Evergreen. He was of the Protestant faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.D. and Cora Thompson.
He is survived by cousins, Mayhew (Pauline) Pitts of Pensacola, the Rev. Byrnes (Mary) Pitts of Brewton, Meryl Smith of St. Charles, Mo., and Louise Bush of Mobile; his uncle, Donald Thompson of Pensacola, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 1, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Hughie Denton and the Rev. Byrnes Pitts officiating. Burial followed at Spear Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
