The experts had talked about it all year long. For a team that went most of the season undefeated and entered Monday night's national championship basketball with one loss, the Memphis Tigers were one of the worst free-throw shooting teams in America.
Well, it came back and bit them Monday night.
Memphis' Derrick Rose and Chris Douglas-Roberts missed four of five free throws in the last 1:12 that could have made it a four-point game if the last two free throws had been made instead of just one.
With a score of 63-60 in Memphis' favor, Kansa took the ball down the court and Mario Chalmers of Kansas nailed a 3-pointer with 2.1 seconds left to tie the game at 63-63. The game was forced into overtime and from their Kansas took control to claim there, first national championship since 1988. They defeated Memphis 75-68 in San Antonio.
First my thoughts on the game and then we will talk about other stuff
