Mr. Daniel Smith, 16, of Jay, died Friday, April 11, 2008 as a result of an automobile accident. He attended Jay High School. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmothers, Willie Mae Williamson and Flora Mae Andrews; grandfathers, James Butler and Stanley Dean Smith Sr. 
He is survived by his mother and father, Linda Smith and Stanley Dean Smith Jr.; a sister Leslie Smith; a brother-in-law Jesse Flannigan; grandmothers Gloria Butler and Barbara Smith; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16, beginning at 6 p.m. at Jay First Assembly of God Church. 
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 17, at 2 p.m. at Jay First Assembly of God Church with Brother Jim Lassiter officiating. Burial will follow at Cobbtown Holiness Church Cemetery with Jay Funeral Home directing.  Pallbearers will be Robert Hooks, Roger Godwin, Durwood Godwin, Brandon Sellers, Wesley Gorum, and Michael Rackard.  Honorary pallbearers will be Zack Barlow, Andy Barlow, Ross Pettis, Clarence Earl Powell, Albert Smith, Brandon Welch, Brandon Watson, Aaron Nowling, and Westley Milstead.
