Mrs. Martha Sue Dawkins Janes, 76, of Dawkins Road, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, in a local hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Brooklyn and a life-long resident of Brewton. She was a member of May Creek Methodist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons, Donald (Bessie) Janes of Greenville, S.C., Ricky (Wanda) Janes of Tennessee, and Samuel (Kim) Janes of Omaha, Neb.; two daughters, Mondrea (Tommy) Marshall of Jackson, Ala., and Pamela (David) Lewis of Brewton; four brothers, Rothel Dawkins of Fayetteville, N.C., Randall Dawkins of Columbia, S.C., and Donald Dawkins and Gary Dawkins, both of Brewton; and two sisters, Margaret Burnham and Elizabeth Hacker, both of Brewton.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 15, at 10 a.m. at May Creek Methodist Church with the Rev. Thomas Smith, the Rev. Floyd Dyal, and youth minister, Brian Hammond officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Cemetery on Appleton Road with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
