Mr. Michael “Mikey” Edwards, 17, died Friday, April 11, 2008, in Century, Fla. He was a native and life-long resident of Brewton, a member of the Dixonville Volunteer Fire Department and had worked at all the volunteer fire departments. He was preceded in death by a brothe, Eckard Capers, and his grandfathers, Billy Joe Edwards and Buary Hasting.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Mike and Shenna Edwards of Summerdale; his mother and stepfather, Tina and Chris Adams of Uriah; his daddy, Johnny Kilpatrick of Pace, Fla.; his grandparents, Robert and Linda Scroggins of Brewton, Mary L. Edwards of Atmore, Norma Jean Kilpatrick of Pace, and Fonzie and Linda Hall of Canoe; his brother, C.J. Adams of Brewton; four sisters, Rebecca Kilpatrick and Shay Kilpatrick, both of Uriah, Selene Adams of Brewton, and Mikayla Edwards of Summerdale; an uncle, Terry Hasting of Brewton, and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 16, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Frederick Barrow officiating. Burial will follow at Dry Springs Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Ace Ellis, Jake Bailey, Skyler Grissett, Tyler Grissett, Josh Frye, George Santos and Jacob Sander. Honoary pallbearers will be the Dixonville Volunteer Fire Department and the Skyline Volunteer Fire Department.
