JDCC falls to 9-12 in conference

The Jefferson Davis Community College baseball team dropped three of four games over the week to fall to 18-21 overall and to 9-12 in conference play.
JDCC lost three straight to conference opponent Faulkner State by scores of 7-3, 2-0, and 5-4 before defeating Bevill State of Sumiton 9-5 in non-conference play.
JDCC was set to play Alabama Southern on Friday and Saturday in Monroeville before taking on Lawson State in Birmingham on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
JDCC will take on LBW and Chattahoochee Valley the next two weekends to end their regular season schedule.
The Warhawks will take on LBW on Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26 at home at 1 p.m. and noon respectively.
Chattahoochee Valley will come to town the next Friday and Saturday, May 2 and 3 at 1 p.m. and noon respectively.
JDCC 3, Faulkner State 7
Faulkner State scored three runs in each of the seventh and eighth inning to take 7-2 lead after the Warhawks had a 2-1 lead to claim a one-run lead at 7-3.
Bryant Hall and Clay Simpson both had doubles in the game as Simpson went 2-for-3 and Hall was 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
Cody Sanderson was 2-for-4 with one RBI in the loss.
Michael Clay took the loss on the mound going 6.2 innings and allowing eight hits and four runs (three earned) and walked five and struck out three.
JDCC 5, Faulkner State 7
Just like in game two, Faulkner State scored runs late to claim a 7-5 win over the Warhawks.
JDCC held a 5-4 lead after seven inning of play, but Faulkner scored one run in the eighth inning to tie the game at 5-5 and forced the game to extra innings. Faulkner State then scored two runs in the top of the 10th inning to win by two.
Kyle Snedeker and Cordaro Lindsey both had doubles in the loss, as Lindsey was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
Ben Negus and Justin Reeves scored two runs each in the game, as Cody Sanderson was 2-for-4 at the plate.
Hunter Brown took the loss on the mound as he went four innings and allowed five hits and three runs (none earned) and struck out three.
JDCC 4, Faulkner State 5
In the series finale of the games with Faulkner State, it was only fitting that a late run for the Faulkner State would win the game.
With the game tied at 4-4 after three innings, Faulkner State scored one run in the top of the sixth to take a 5-4 win.
Snedeker, Clarence Moorer, and Cody Sanderson all had doubles in the game as Clay Simpson was 2-for-3 at the plate and Bryant Hall added two RBIs in the loss.
Robby Carlson took the loss on the mound as he went seven innings and allowed 13 hits and five runs and walked three and struck out five.
JDCC 9, Bevill State 5
After falling to Faulkner State in three straight games, JDCC broke through with a 9-5 win over Bevill.
JDCC pounded out 14 hits in the game with six of the hits being doubles. Ben Blodgett, Nick Pannasch, Cody Sanderson and Cody Turner all had doubles in the game with Allen Thompson adding two more in the win.
Blodgett was 2-for-4 in the win with Pannasch going 3-for-3 with three RBIs and Thompson going 2-for-5. Turner was 3-for-5 in the win. Terry McClain added three RBIs.
Hunter Brown picked up the win on the mound.
