JDCC falls twice

The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team dropped a 3-0 and a 6-2 loss to Alabama Southern of Monroeville last week to fall to 13-31 overall and 4-14 in conference play.
JDCC was set to play Bishop State in Mobile Tuesday and will play at Faulkner State in Bay Minette Thursday at 3 and 5 p.m.
JDCC will take on Alabama Southern again Saturday in Monroeville before closing out their regular season Tuesday against Pensacola Junior College.

In a one-run game until the final inning of play, Alabama Southern scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a 3-0 lead and hold on for the win against the JDCC Lady Warhawks.
Ashleigh Allgood went the distance on the mound and went the complete game to earn the loss. Allgood allowed three runs on eight hits and struck out eight while walking one in the game.
Alabama Southern scored one run in the top of the second inning before scoring two in the last inning for the three-run lead.
Jeri Edwards, Tiffany Cayson, Allgood, Shanelle Bradshaw, and Chasity Nicholson were all 1-for-3 in the loss.
Game two: Alabama Southern 6,
JDCC 2
In game two between the Lady Warhawks and the Lady Eagles from Alabama Southern, JDCC dropped their second game to the Eagles in a 6-2 loss.
The Lady Warhawks struck for one run in the bottom of the first inning to claim an early 1-0 lea.
Alabama Southern scored three in the top of the second inning to claim a 3-1 lead.
JDCC cut the lead to 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth, but those would be the last runs of the game for the Warkhawks.
Alabama Southern scored two runs in the sixth inning and one in the seventh to give them the four run win.
Allgood took the loss on the mound going six innings and allowing five runs and striking out six.
Jayla Davis led the Lady Warhawks at the plate going 3-for-4 at the plate with one RBI.
Allgood was 2-for-4 with Cayson at 2-for-4 also.
